The Modern Energy Investor Forum offers a look at all of these questions and will provide valuable information about Energy and its current status. The recent economic challenges in the US and globally have generated extreme volatility in both commodity prices and the company stocks that represent them. Oil prices up to $147 a barrel in July, were a reflection of the supply and demand challenges facing consumers worldwide. And with energy demand growth estimated to be around 55% worldwide from 2005 to 2030, there is clearly a need for added energy sources - and not just in oil and gas; also coal, nuclear, wind, solar, geothermal, hydro, biomass, biofuels, efficiencies and others.

Join the Power Lunch for a groundbreaking dialogue about the importance of investing in infrastructure as a bridge to an alternative energy future. John Moore, CEO of Acorn Energy and Nora Brownell, Former Commissioner of the Federal Regulatory Commission (FERC) will discuss the often invisible reality that many fundamental infrastructure components need change - now. They will argue that as our grid ages we cannot ignore the stark reality that our infrastructure needs change. .this change must be implemented before we adopt science projects and expensive renewables, In addition, a section of the program will focus on energy plays in Asia. Two companies based in China (one public and one privately held) will be speaking about their companies and the amazing growth opportunities they foresee in the near future. Also, on the program is Professor Ali Malkawi, the founder of the Penn-Tsinghua University Center for Building Simulation & Environmental Studies. He is one of the foremost experts on building energy simulation and will speak to the audience about energy simulation and energy conservation.
