WELCOME TO THE AFRICA MINING CONGRESS 2007

Africa and base metals commodities, farming, and mining are among the hottest topics in investment markets right now. The commodities markets in the past five years have surged due to increased demand for products made from these raw materials. This could be the biggest, broadest, bull market we will see in our lifetimes. It is an unprecendented time in history when two major countries, China and India, with populations of over a billion people, are both experiencing modernization of their infrastructures at the same time. The economic growth of countries of this size is not an easy task and takes time, money, energy, expertise, and supplies.

The demand for commodities needed to sustain these growing societies looks as if it will continue for a number of years to come. This is good news for a formerly waning mining industry. Since it takes an average of 10 years to bring a mineral discovery to production, long market cycles are important to sustain interest. The current market cycle in base metals commoditites has been sustained long enough for a number of worldwide projects to come on-line to production. It has also allowed the healthy financing and development of many other projects which are moving forward quickly. And it looks as if the bull market cycle in commodities has a ways to go yet, with many experts predicting a reach into 2021.

The interest in projects in Africa and in developing nations such as Zambia, has spurred a resurgence in the economic and social development of numerous areas in the region. The Africa Mining Congress 2007, is poised to present the key emerging stories of this area of Africa and the market of rising commodities prices to investors and analysts. The conference presents an opportunity for mining executives to interact with money managers in a relaxed and serene environment.

Recently there has been an increased global awareness of African countries, their resources, their health issues, and their unparalleled beauty. There is a public promotion to take an interest in and invest in Africa, i.e., Oprah and her $40 million investment for a school in South Africa. This increased interest by celebrities in African social issues has raised awareness and brought attention to the previously lesser known African communities. It has also created a comfort level and confidence for the everyday person to make an effort to support African countries and their people.

Likewise, Meetings International (MINE LLC), the founder and organizer of the Africa Mining Congress held in Livingstone, Zambia is undertaking a local project. The project, called Dani's Home, houses sexually abused teenage girls in Livingstone. MINE LLC acknowledges that along with the development of projects and resources comes responsibility. Many companies are doing more than just providing jobs and responsibly developing the resources in the areas in which they work; the are reaching out to make a difference in the communities. It is difficult to come to a country such as Zambia, get to know the people, and not want to help in some way, if possible.

MINE LLC is proud to present the Second Annual Africa Mining Congress 2007 here in Livingstone, Zambia. We want to thank our sponsor companies for coming to present and for hosting the various mine tours. Special thanks go to our underwriters, GMP Securities, our Platinum Underwriter; and Haywood Securities, our Gold Underwriter. Our deepest appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Levy P. Mwanawasa, SC, and to all of our attendees who have travelled so far to enjoy this unique experience.

Please, enjoy the conference.
